PARTNERSHIP CONCEPT

The Ask:

•One :30 on channel co-branded interstitial idea that inspires discovery and human connection, integrating Hulu’s original comedy Pen15 and employing Hulu’s rebel lover brand voice.

•One concept for a broader opportunity for Coke to align with Hulu.

My Approach:

Leaning into the hilarious, cringe-worthy awkwardness and suspension-of-disbelief of PEN15, I wanted to find a way to integrate Coca Cola in a way that felt true to the characters and the show.  My initial thought was to find a Coke ad from the year 2000 and just replace the characters with Maya and Anna, but I was unable to find a spot with the right tone.  Ultimately, though, this did turn up the classic jingle from the 90s “do do do do do Always Coca Cola,” which seemed appropriate to integrate.
